After seeing Uhuru Kenyatta’s request to the sports ministry to make available close to $1million for artists in order to be able to continue entertaining their fans in this pandemic, Ghanaian reggae-dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale, has become seriously upset with the Ghanaian music industry.

According to Shatta, the music industry in Ghana is nothing but a “big disgrace to the world.”

Kenyan President, Uhuru Kenyatta, in his address to Kenyans on March 6, 2020, ordered for the release of some 100 million Kenyan shillings or its equivalent of $938,850.50 to Kenyan artists in the wake of COVID-19.
"I also direct the Ministry of Sports to avail additional support of Ksh100million from the sports fund to our artists so they can continue to entertain their fellow brothers and sisters through TV, Radio, and the Internet," he stated.

Reacting to this, Shatta Wale who has criticized the Ghanaian music industry for a very long time in terms of reforms took to Twitter later to vent his displeasure.
