Nigerian DJ, Two Musicians Listed in Forbes 2020 List of 30 under 30 in Africa

It is no doubt that the music industry in Nigeria is flourishing and giving a good life and jobs to many, both the youth and the elderly people.
If you still doubt this fact, then you need to think twice; this is because if it was not the case, no single Nigerian who depend on the industry for livelihood would make the cut for the 2020 Forbes list of Top 30 under 30 in Africa.
According to the list that was published on April 1, several Nigerians were included, but most importantly three who are in the music industry, a deejay, and two artists.
Let’s have a brief look at the three in no particular order;
DJ Cuppy
Officially known as Florence Ifeoluwa Otedola, DJ Cuppy is ranked among Nigeria’s most accomplished Deejays today.
She, in 2015 performed during the inauguration of President Mohammed Buhari.
Coming from a family that has interests in the oil business, DJ Cuppy beat all odds to venture into the music industry, an area she had an interest in since her teenage times where she used to perform during local parties and events.
The 27-year-old DJ runs The Cuppy Foundation which she founded in 2015 and focuses on women, children and people living with disabilities.
Mr. Eazi
Oluwatosin Ajibade, popularly known by his stage name Mr. Eazi is a Nigerian musician born in Port Harcourt.
Mr Eazi started his music career while in Ghana, for studies. He is today among the popular and most established musicians in Nigeria.
Mr. Eazi, 28, has performed in various international stages, among them the United Kingdom (UK) and the United States of America.
The musician who boasts of over 280 million views on YouTube and 4.1 million Spotty streams per month is also an entrepreneur and he uses the emPawa Africa, which he founded in 2018 to mentor and fund musicians among them Nigerian singer Simi and Ghana’s King Promise.

Patoranking
While celebrating the new achievement, Patoranking hinted that he was now eying the billionaires' list.
“The darkest nights produce the brightest stars Grateful and Thankful to Everyone involved...Next Stop is the Billionaires List
,” he tweeted.
The 29-year-old Nigerian singer is ranked among Africa’s top dancehall musicians.
Most of his songs have a combination of reggae, afro beats and dancehall beats, making him a unique artist in the continent.
In his music career, Patoranking has been nominated for over 40 awards, winning half of them.
Some of the awards that Patoranking has scoped in the past include; MTV Africa’s Song of the Year for the song ‘My Woman My Everything’ in 2016 and Best African Artist at the South African Music Awards.
