Mr Eazi Unveils New Artists for #emPawa30!!

Nigerian star, Mr Eazi has revealed the next batch of African talent; #emPawa30 program $10k non-repayable grant towards producing and filming their first professional-quality music video

The artist will be equiped with the tools neccesary, knowledge available, networking opportunities and an investment pool to grow and export their music and talent from Africa to the World.

After its launch in 2018, some of the artists who have benefitted are as Joeboy, Lady Donli, J.Derobie and Karun.

To be considered for the program, entrants were asked to upload a short video clip of themselves performing with the hashtag #emPawa30. More than 30,000 entries were received, and evaluated by the emPawa team and his team of music-industry colleagues.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Mr Eazi said that apart from requesting for vocal submissions and all that encompasses creative productions, the selection process would delve deep dive into profiles and the general content posted by the participants. This is part of the selection process and it also includes an online meet with a producer to measure the commitment and viability before one is selected.

Each artist in the program dubbded #empawa30 will receive a mentor and video director, with whom they will work directly throughout the seven-month program.

Mentors include Diplo, DJ Maphorisa, Jae5, Fred Gibson and Harmonize. Mr Eazi will also be mentors.

Mr Eazi started emPawa Africa as a new model for artist growth getting inspiration from his own experiences participating in business incubators as a young tech entrepreneur.

Since its launch, the company has grown into a music distributor and label services company with clients including Eazi’s own Banku Music label, as well as African music stars Simi (Nigeria), King Promise (Ghana) and Joey B (Ghana).
