Wizkid becomes the first Nigerian artist to grace and win such an award. The hit song, which also featured Blue Ivy, was announced the winner of the Outstanding Duo, Group or Collaboration category.

What makes Image Awards special apart from recognizing the best in film, television, music, and literature is that it is seen through the lens of black people and black culture. So people from all around the globe get nominated and win whom in more mainstream award shows like Oscars might get ignored or downplayed.

Beyonce also won other several categories including ‘Outstanding Female Artist’ and Outstanding Album’ respectively.
