Many Nigerian artists, gospel or secular always take the time to reflect on how far they have come and Zlatan Ibile is really one of them in his new single/video ‘Life’ off his album, ZANKU.
‘Life’ is a reflective journey for Zlatan and his music and the people who have willed to stick around and watch him win and others who have been there only for the wins.
The song is produced on a very mellow beat and it has the kind of misplaced arrangement kind of like Jhene Aiko style. It is a beautiful clash of Zlatan’s fast-paced flow over the slowed down beat. Both the flow and the beat stay consistent making it sound like a freestyle, again, Jhene Aiko style.
The video is shot on snow with Zlatan and the crew living their best Aspen skiing life. It is a great depiction of the song with him showing us just how much he is winning. The video is quite simple with drone shots and regular shots without many scenes switching up on the screen which carries the theme of a freestyle.
