The Grammys are set to happen later this week and it was announced that they will be honouring Nipsey Hussle for his contribution in music.

The rapper was shot and killed on the 31st of March 2019. He is remembered for his clothing line ‘The Marathon Continues’ but more for what he did in the black community; reclaiming the black hood for black businesses. He also did a lot for the rap industry and is also remembered largely for that.

The Grammys will give him an all-star tribute for that. The performers honouring him will be John Legend, DJ Khaled, Meek Mill, YG, Roddy Ricch and Kirk Franklin.

Nipsey has been nominated for 3 Grammys that night; Best rap performance and Best rap song for ‘Racks in the Middle’ and Best rap/sung performance for his collaboration with DJ Khaled and John Legend, ‘Higher’.

The Grammys will happen in Los Angeles at the Staples Centre where Nipsey’s celebration of life was also held. The live event happens on the 26th of this month.
