Kenyan boy bands are definitely some of the most exciting bands one will ever come across anywhere in the world. Halisi the Band continue to prove this to be true with the music they have been releasing since their restructuring and rebranding. They have now released their latest song ‘Tuma Pesa’

Tuma Pesa begins with a guitar playing which sounds like just a single riff off Sauti Sol’s Melanin. Eli then comes through with his well-controlled voice to begin the song. ‘Tuma Pesa’ is really a modern take on ‘Bwana Nipe Pesa’ which really tells the struggle of waiting for people to pay their dues.

The video is colourful one making use of what is within the environment; the mama mbogas, the houses around them and the streets. The men of Halisi the Band look so dapper in their suits and everything they are in; they bring colour, sophistication and a lot glamour to the video. The song is a definite bop and there is a lot of dancing in the video.

I bet influencers and artists now have a reference song to their woes, ‘Tuma pesa na utume pia ya kutoa.’ Catch a groovy vibe with Halisi the Band on ‘Tuma Pesa’.
