Last week, social media was awash with reports that popular singer, John Kasadha aka John Blaq had been banned from performing in America for ten years. This was because he was paid by a certain promoter to perform but he failed to show up and instead took the money.

The criticism he received on social media forced him to hold a press conference and clear the air about how it went down between him ad the promoter who was accusing him of taking the mine and refusing to perform.

"I'm aware of the promoter's claims but the way he addressed them to you is not right. He is trying to ruin my name and my career.

"It was September before I had my maiden concert last year, I got a call from a man called Symo who told me about a show in America in October. I knew him so I accepted to meet the promoters. He came with Christopher a man sent to help me with the visa just like the promoter promised.

"Beginning of October, they promised that the embassy would send the email on when I should go." John says they kept him waiting saying the visa was still being processed.

"When I went to the embassy, they gave me 10th December as the date for the interview yet the shows were in October on 25th, 26th and 27th. The shows would be done by then." He revealed that he talked to the promoters telling them how they had delayed to apply for the visa but they told him they would put the shows on hold and wait for the visa.

"I had my shows one of which was Patoranking's but i didn't perform because I told them I would be traveling to America. I lost more 15 million because of them."

"We had agreed on 29th October that they would pay 1500 dollars for each show but they did not deposit anything waiting for the visa. I told them to give me two tickets for my manager and I but they said it was expensive. I instead told them to pay 2000 dollars if I was to travel alone but they still refused."

John Blaq further reveals that when they failed to reach a negotiation, the promoters threatened to call the embassy and have his visa cancelled.

"Before I could even pick my visa, Symo was already on TV saying they had cancelled my visa. They did all this to ruin me. Promoter has never given me any coin. If he says he gave me money, he should bring the contract and the evidence." John Blaq said.

John Blaq however swears that he was not banned from performing in America like reports stated.
"I asked the embassy if I was banned but they said I was not. They just cancelled my visa; which means any day any time i can reapply and travel."

John Blaq promised that he would be performing for his fans in America in July this year.
