GHANA:Ghana’s Wiyaala wins Artiste of the Year at Arts and Culture Awards

Ghana’s international afro pop female singer, Wiyaala, has been crowned the Artiste of the Year at the just ended 2019 edition of the Ghana Arts and Culture Awards.

 The award was presented by the acting President of the Musicians Union of Ghana, Mr. Bessa Simons, at the event which took place at the Accra International Conference Centre on Saturday, December 7.

 Known in private life as Noella Wiyaala, the musician announced her victory on her Twitter timeline share the news with her fans.

 “Ghana's Artist of the Year is @Wiyaala presented by Bessa Simons acting President of Musiga Thank you! @Ghartsnculture Awards 2019 partnered by @MOTACGhana Sponsors @GihocL,” Wiyaala wrote.

 Ghana Arts and Culture Awards which was launched in September 2019 seeks to honor individuals and brands who have made significant contributions to the Arts and Culture Industry in Ghana.

 Before becoming a solo artiste, Wiyaala won the 2012 Vodafone ICONS Mixed Edition contest hosted by fellow Ghanaian DJ "Benny Blanco", as part of the Ghanaian band Black N Peach, while singing Tina Turner's "Simply The Best".

 Before that, Wiyaala had earlier participated in the Stars of the Future reality show where she got to the finals after attempting it three times.
