‘I will release reggae music albums as from June 2019 onwards’ said Ras Bornfire Dube

Ras Bornfire Dube has assured his reggae music fans that he will continue to release more projects, contradicting his earlier announcement that his debut smash hit Judgement Is Not 4 Da People will be the first and the last album. Previously in 2017, the same Ras Dube told supporters at a jam-packed gig in his hometown Leeufontein that he will focus on releasing singles for performance purpose only. His decision was accepted with mixed feelings by dancehall fans fraternity after he took centre stage to proclaim that ‘anyone who want to listen to his new songs should attend live shows as he will never ever release albums due to high level of piracy’. Now the neo-reggae artiste has changed the tune completely as he revealed future plans to make a follow-up album.

“I decided to withdraw the untimely statement made in 2017 about recording music for performances only. In fact, I was motivated by the skyrocketing downloads I got from Mdundo.com website to change my mind. The response I got after streaming my songs on this Kenyan portal is so awesome. Initially I signed only one album with Kokoto Produxionz as a tribute my mother & reggae star Lucky Dube. However, I had to go back to drawing board to extent the recording deal for sake of my fans. In other words my supporters should expect more music to come” Ras Dube told our news team before taking a private trip to Marblehall on Friday.

The founder of Kokoto Produxionz Jimmy Moshidi also confirmed that Ras Dube is back in the studio to give fans some more. “Everything is on point. We reviewed our relationship with Dube and he also gave us full rights to distribute all his underground zim-dancehall music on various digital media platforms including mdundo.com portal. I am also engaging his local promoter Bling-T and other reggae/dancehall promoters to line-up shows for 2019 tour to complete our mission”
