ARAMIDE BIOGRAPHY
Aramide is a Nigerian singer-songwriter and performer whose real name is Aramide Sarumoh. She identifies her music style as Afro Soul and in 2019 she made history as she became one of the few African artists to be appointed to the body of governors for the Recording Academy (Grammy). Her songs usually revolve around the themes of love, betrayal, friendship, trust and challenges surrounding womanhood.

Early Life and Career Breakthrough
She was born on 22nd June 2022 and growing in a supportive and liberal environment, she realized her singing talents at a very young age and when she was in secondary school she learnt how to play the Saxophone and Guitar.
She enrolled at the University Of Jos where she graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Political science it was at the University that she participated in the Star Quest talent hunt show, making her part of a band that finished Third Runners up at the competition and finally launched her career as a solo artist.
In 2014 Aramide became Base Music label joining Skales and Saeon at the label and on February 4, 2015, she released her first single under Baseline Music titled "Iwo Nikan" which was well received by fans across Nigeria. She once did a remake or cover of Davido‘s ‘Ekuro’ and went viral on social media.
Aramide has cited different artists that have inspired her to become a singer. Such artists include Erykah Badu, Miriam Makeba and the Grammy-winning singer Angelique Kidjo has her main influence in the music industry.

Does Aramide have any albums or EPs?
Her debut album titled Suitcase was released in 2016. 'Suitcase' was made up of 17 songs and it saw the award-winning singer working with different artists such as Sir Dauda, Ice Prince, Adekunle Gold, Sound Sultan and Koker.
In 2021 Aramide released her critically acclaimed EP titled Bittersweet which contained 5 songs and featured 2 guest artists, Peruzzi in the song Iyawo Wa and Boybreed in the song ‘Down For You.’

Awards Won
In 2015 she won Female Best Vocal Performer at the Headies Awards through her single "Iwo Nikan".She also won the Nigeria Entertainment Awards in 2015 as the Best Alternative Artist.
At The AFRIMA Awards 2016 Aramide Won As The Best Female Artist In West Africa.
In the 2018 Headies Awards, her song titled Funmi Lowo Remix won the category of Best Alternative Song at The Headies Awards.
