KENYA: Up-Close & Personal with Keko

You have seen her on TV, heard her on radio and even streamed her music online. She is none other than Keko, the best female rapper in Uganda. We had a chance to talk to her yesterday, and she gave us an insight into her life in music

Mdundo:  Describe yourself?
Keko: I am passionate hard working caring in love with music.

Mdundo:When did you start doing music?
Keko:I started doing music in nursery school all through to university to date.

Mdundo: What has been your best moment in your career?
Keko:Performing on stage is my favorite moment.

Mdundo: In which other countries have you had a chance to perform and what was the reception?

Keko:Ethiopia Kenya South Afrika Rwanda United States of America Namibia all great receptions.

Mdundo: What is your dressing style and how does it complement your music?

Keko:I like to dress sometimes out of comfort but I am trying to get out of that comfort zone soon. I like to feel confident so I love suits traditional wear like Gomesis when need be.

Mdundo: What projects should we be looking out for?

Keko: Slot more music is all I can say now.

Mdundo: Hobbies?

Keko: Movies, basketball,  soccer,  hanging out with a friends club fun stuff making money

Mdundo:Your inspiration and reason for doing what you do?

Keko:God is my true inspiration although I some times write from what I see or hear.

Mdundo: Something that you have learnt about the industry that you did not know before you started your career?

Keko: Not every one is happy when you succeed but you got to just move on and motivate yourself sometimes the people you think are your friends are envious jealous want what you have but that is fine that means they are inspired by you.
