Artist of the day: Jay A

Juma Ali better known by fans as Jay A is a young versatile artist, who in a period of less than one year in the music scene cut out a niche for himself not only in the Kenyan Music Industry, but also Internationally on Channel O, and MTV base, with hit song after hit song.
The artist who confesses to being a lover of sports , movies and animals made his debut into the music scene back in May of 2012 with his debut single 'Clap Yo Hands' that propelled him into the main stream media shocking the artist who had not anticipated people to be as receptive as they were to his music.
Due to his flawless skill in rhyming Jay A has attracted the attention of his contemporaries resulting in a number of highly successful collabo's with some of the leading artists in Kenya.
Jay A cut a niche for the Urban Kenyan Hip hop scene and confessed to Mdundo during a former interview that his parents were a driving force for him to get into the music scene,
"My parents were both involved in music during their youth so i draw alot of inspiration from them, through my music i hope to leave behind a legacy as one who will be known for having inspired other young people to follow their dreams and unleash their potential"
He is currently riding high with his Dumbala remix single which has taken over the music charts since its release late last year, and is known for some of his major hit songs such as 'Pledge your love' with Antoneosoul 'Taking notes', Dumballa and Gello .
