I remember when I first heard King Kaka in the song Dodoma, spoken word was something was something I had never heard on a song before.
And it was his unique style of blending intricately designed poetry (spoken word) that helped him gain mileage and win the hearts of hip-hop lovers in Kenya. In a way he changed what we believed Hiphop was by bringing poetry into the mix.
Over time though this faded and we’ve rarely seen that emotional, poetic side of him again, until today.
His new jam Papa with Elani is a collaboration most of us never saw coming but most of all we did not think we would see Rabbit (King Kaka) the poet come back.
