WOMAN CRUSH WEDNESDAY: The Musical Flame That Is Sana

It may be rather obvious but it fills me with joy simply letting you know that midweek is here and with all Wednesdays comes the theme, Women Crush Wednesday.
For an entire 24 hours, we give you the luxury of using your imaginative mind and fantasize as much as your brain cap can hold. Can it possibly get any better? So sit relax and think of any female in the music industry that gives you that emotional shiver or makes you feel like flowers and rainbows within.
I roll my dice on the enchanting lady who would have stopped the Hiroshima, Nagasaki holocaust with only two weapons; beauty and a voice! Sanaipei Tande aka Sana.
The well established charming and talented radio presenter, karaoke host, singer and performer, makes juggling sound like child’s play. Born and brought up in Mombasa Kenya and later moved to Nairobi, Matasia Ngong area where she spent her teenage years, Sanaipei has had what I’d call an all rounded childhood. Moving almost became her middle name when she momentarily relocated to South Africa to train in voice and choreography lessons. Sanaipei Tande is also trained as a professional pharmacist at the Kenya medical training college (KMTC).

Sana became a national music sensation after auditioning for the East Africa coca cola pop stars talent search in 2004, where along with singer Pam and Kevin Waweru, formed the group Sema. Like the fate of many music groups they called it quits in 2006, which is when Sana embarked on a solo career alongside record makers, homeboys entertainment. Cause and effect of all this was one of her greatest hits ever, that put her on the world map, “kwaheri”.
A tremendous song library followed after this, with songs like ‘Najuta, Niokoe, Niwe wako, mulika mwizi, big shot remix, not the one, you, happy, and Geti kali’. Success now was what she wore on around her neck ever since; from being a judge at the Sakata Dance competition to a radio host at one of the most paramount stations, Kiss 100.
Here’s the spicy bit, since she has managed to keep her personal life air tight and paparazzi proof, no one knows who or if she is dating. So boys and girls, here’s where your Woman crush gets even more interesting! You might just get to play the role of knight in shining armor as you ride into the sunset with your damsel- Sana.
