Sauti Za Mabinti: If you are a lady with an eye for art, this is where you should be!

The strength of a woman is not measured by the impact that all her hardships in life have had on her; instead it is measured by the extent of her refusal to allow those hardships to dictate her and who she becomes. And here is a group of women taking precisely that fact into their fists and instead of  anticipating freedom, they break the chains themselves . Meet Sauti Za Mabinti.

Speaking to Neemoh who is going to host an upcoming event by the group, she gave us a glance into what it is all about: “Sauti Za Mabinti is an event that is giving a platform for upcoming female artist to empower and grow themselves musically and socially. We are giving them a chance to come and prove themselves shine in the limelight and pave a way for their future. We have different genres of music, Hip hop, Neo soul, Afro fusion, Spoken word, and we also embrace poetry and other works of art. We will also give a chance to drawings paintings and any other form of artistic work. We are going to create a platter big enough to embrace all women in the entertainment industry, give them a floor to come together be appreciated and be able to express themselves without prejudice of any sort. We aim to create awareness of women empowerment and to encourage society to uphold the status of our women. We also hope to give them self identity. Sauti za mabinti is working towards bringing together all women to share in the love for music and art.”

This will be the third edition of Sauti za Mabinti and the theme will be Ladies first. The venue will be at Michael Joseph centre 23rd August and the performance list is as follows,

• MC- Neemoh Mugane Mugane-artist and karaoke host
• Poets- Mwende Ngao,Poetic Bee and Anna montet
• Rappers- Shiku Femi One ,samantha m-ill and baby T
• Neo soul-  Wangui Githu and her band
• Afro fusion -Lydiah Dola and her band.
