KENYA: Guys I'm Playing At The Koroga Festival - Tetu Shani

It all started with a tweet and a facebook post back in February. It wasn't a complicated post. I just wrote that I wanted to play Koroga Festival this year. Not that I HOPED to play but that I WANTED to play.

The post quickly went viral with the hashtag #tetushaniforkorogafestival and many of you shared it with your friends, tagged people from Capital FM on it and joined me in believing it was possible. Not long afterwards I got a call from Capital FM to do a radio interview on one of the their breakfast shows and not long after that I got another call telling me that I'm on the line up for May 13th, sharing the stage with Werrason from Congo and Micasa from South Africa. Basically I'll be representing my hometown as the only Kenyan artist in one of the biggest East African festivals. What!!

No strings pulled. No "hook ups" and "connections."

I've learned a few things. Number one, you need to articulate your desires. Say it out loud. Write it on a piece of paper and stick it on your fridge. Don't just say it but believe it! Number two, articulate your desires to other people. No one will help you achieve your desires if they don't know what those desires are. Number three, prepare for the manifestation of those desires. As soon as I decided I wanted to play Koroga Festival, I started preparing for it LONG before they ever called me to say I'd been selected.

I'm so excited and I'd be even more excited if you could come and catch my performance on Sunday the 13th of May at Two Rivers.
