Habida starts off 2018 with a bang! Releasing her new single “Searching”. After spending 2017 planning, recording, and rebranding, she has decided to start off the year in an unapologetic way. Searching is the first part of a trilogy “The Journey to I AM”.
“I AM” for Habida is about being her true self. Being comfortable as well as enjoying her journey, mistakes, failings, and embracing her successes.
The trilogy is a musical description of her journey through music, love and life. Habida's narrative this year is, “I have done it for the music industry, my fans and everyone else, but this time I do it for the fulfillment of my purpose and my true self”, in essence allowing her fans into the real her!
Habida has a new sound! Which she has been looking for since the beginning. Qura Mark Rankin and Habida worked tirelessly on the I AM-EP AND MORE! Between L.A and Nairobi, flying back and forth. Qura, a Grammy-winning British record and mixing engineer and music producer, started off Habida’s career in 1998 when she was 17 years old and now as life would have it, they have gone full circle and worked together again after all these years to produce Magic!
Habida is planning to take her new sound and truthful music to who ever will listen across the globe starting with Kenya her country of birth. She will also have her first solo concert on Valentines Day in conjunction with Industry night.
