KENYA: Nyota Ndogo Talks Peace and Music

When Nyota Ndogo released Subira, she revealed that she was not trying to go with the peace song wave, rather, heeding to a promise she made to herself to use her craft to spread the message of peace.

“I have come to appreciate the enabling environment we have in Kenya and as a singer, I can’t afford to lose that. It is what brings food on the table for my children and I. Therefore, I have a role to play in propagating peace,” she said.

Nyota, whose real name is Mwanaisha Abdalla, is currently in Denmark on vacation and will jet back into the country in a fortnight to start promoting her new song, which is yet to be released.
