Early Life

Oluwatobi Wande Ojosipe famously known as Wande Coal is a singer and songwriter of Nigerian origin. He was born on the 18 of October 1985 in Lagos Island, Lagos state, Nigeria, to Chief Ibukun Olufunto and Omolara Oluwaemesi Ojosipe. He is the first of two children, turning 36 as of April 2022. Wande began his primary education at Staff Nursery and Primary School Ijanikin Lagos state, later proceeding to the Federal Government College Ijanikin Lagos in Lagos for his Secondary school education. In search of higher education, he attended the University of Lagos(UNILAG), Lagos state, where he pursued Human kinetics.

Music Career and Journey

His music career started as a teenage choirboy in his church, getting his first break in the entertainment industry as a dancer and later getting signed to Don Jazzy's Mo Hts Records in 2006. During his stay in Mo Hits, he released his hit song 'Ololufe' which has been cited as one of the most popular and powerful love songs in Nigeria to date. Featuring on D'banj’s Rundown/Funk you up album on singles such as "Loke", "Tonosibe" and "Why me".

Aside from being signed to Mo Hits, he is also a member of the Mo Hits Allstars, playing a major role in the released CV(Curriculum Vitae) album. His first single on the CV album was "Ololufe". He later released his debut album Mo’Hits which was well received in many countries including teh United states. On the other hand, his track ‘Ololufe’ which got massive reception from fans and became the best love song ever created by a Nigerian music star.

Coal has collaborated on songs with numerous other Nigerian musicians, including Ikechukwu, Phyno, Davido, Naeto C, Dr. SID, D'Prince, and Wizkid. Coal, Dr. SID, and D'Prince joined Don Jazzy's new record label Mavin Records in 2012 as a result of a fallout between record label executives Don Jazzy and D'banj. Tiwa Savage from 323 Entertainment also joined the firm as the first lady. On November 7, 2013, Wande Coal parted ways with Mavin Records on allegations of intellectual property theft involving a song with lyrics that were identical to those of Don Jazzy.

He dropped a record called "Baby Face" in November 2013 as the reason he was fired from Mavin Records.After a prolonged break, Wande Coal released Wanted, his second album. He scored slightly over average in the majority of album reviews. Then in December 2017 he dropped a new single dubbed Turkey Nla.

Later in 2020, he started out with his single hit “Again,’ was produced by Nigeria’s Malvitto then went on hiatus only to drop ‘Come my Way’ in 2021.
